FAP chez les messieurs a prouvé sa suprématie et BAFIA Evolution leader chez les dames.

 Pendant deux jours de compétition, soit le temps d’un week-end, la ville de Yaoundé a vibré au rythme du beau spectacle offert par les équipes qui ont pris part à la troisième journée de la Camtel Volleyball Championship. Sept équipes chez les messieurs et six chez les dames, elles ont tout donné pour gagner les rencontres et améliorer leur place au classement général. Tout a commencé samedi matin 30 août 2015 au gymnase de l’école des travaux avec la première rencontre qui a mis aux prises Cameroon Sport (CSV) face à Keep Fit de Bamenda (KFB). Cette rencontre annonçait déjà par la qualité du spectacle, ce que ce troisième regroupement devait réserver au public de la ville de Yaoundé. Seul hic à déplorer lors de cette troisième journée, l’absence d’une équipe telle Goudalis de Maroua (GM) en dames.

Au terme de la compétition, FAP a imposé sa suprématie chez les Messieurs en mettant à genoux tous ses adversaires et remonte à la deuxième place du classement. Port de Douala qui occupé la cinquième place au classement général ne prendra pas part au « Final Four » seuls les quatre premières disputerons ce dernier tour. Oxygène de Douala qui occupe la quatrième place dans le classement général, pour sa première année en élite prendra part a ce dernier carré. Bafia Volleyball Evolution (BVE) qui n’a remporté qu’une victoire sur trois de ces matchs face a Port Autonome de Douala (PAD) 3 – 1 (25/18, 25/21, 20/25, 25/22) s’est contentée de la troisième place. CSV leader, reste invaincus (avec seulement trois sets concédés depuis le début de la compétition), tandis Garoua Volleyball de Maroua (GVM) et Keep Fit de Bamenda occupent le bas du tableau.

Chez les dames, BVE s’est voulue rassurante. Les filles du mbam ont continué de trôner au sommet, suivis des élèves professeurs de l’Institut de la Jeunesse et des Sports (INJS), CSV et FAP, respectivement 2e, 3e et 4e. Bien qu’absent de la compétition, Goudalis VB et Mountain Stars de Buea ferment la queue du classement chez les dames. Au terme de ce troisième regroupement, le coordonnateur, Ntete Ntete Pierre, s’est dit satisfait. Selon lui, malgré l’absence d’une équipe, « on peut se réjouir du fait que celles qui ont fait le déplacement aient pu jouer chacune au moins deux matchs ». Au plan de la formation des officiels, certains ont eu à se frotter pour la première fois à la compétition de haut niveau. Ce qui participe également de l’évolution du volleyball camerounais.

Resistencia and Corrientes, Argentina, August 23, 2015 - In an outstanding finale in Argentina, Poland reached the summit at FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship for the very first time, after downing host team Argentina in a heart-stopping tie-breaker in front of a full house in Resistencia. Poland ended up unbeaten in Argentina to achieve a first-time gold medal
Over than 4’000 spectators witnessed the moving struggle of local favourites Argentina before falling to the might of Poland by a final score of 3-2 (22-25, 25-23, 28-30, 25-18, 15-7), as the Poles got covered in an unprecedented gold for this age-group, following the footsteps of their senior team, that were crowned nearly one year ago. Poland enjoyed a constellation of stars in the shape of an astonishing team that grabbed the crown unbeaten, and making use of a tie-breaker for the first time at the final. Among those stars, the most brilliant were MVP Bartosz Kwolek, a demolishing serving machine, and fellow outside hitter Tomasz Fornal, a raging spirit that fired out 24 points on the decisive match. Just before the final, an incredible tournament-high production of 40 points from Iranian star Rasoul Aghchehli ejected the Asians to a remarkable bronze medal as they won over previous champions Russia 3-1 (25-17, 26-28, 25-16, 25-23). Rasoul won a terrific battle of opposites over powerful Russian Dmitry Yakovlev, who led his side with 26 tallies, as Iran improved with the step onto the podium their previous run - a fourth place in Mexico. On the final chapter of their return to Boys’ U19 category, Italy beat Brazil 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-21) and climbed to the fifth place of the final standing after a two-edition absence. USA cruised to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-15) win over China and secured a positive seventh place, as the team upgraded nine places from Mexico 2013. 
Meanwhile, in Corrientes, Turkey beat Cuba 3-0 (25-11, 35-33, 26-24) for the 9th position, France landed 11th after suppressing Bulgaria 3-2 (29-27, 23-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-11), Germany kept Mexico under control and celebrated 3-1 (26-28, 25-18, 25-15, 25-20) to grab the 13th place and the 15th spot belonged to Japan, after a great victory over Chile 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-19). Argentina, Iran, Poland and Russia stay alive at Boys’ U19 World Champs
Resistencia and Corrientes, Argentina, August 21, 2015 - Only four teams can still dream of the gold medal at FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship. Host team Argentina, Iran, Poland and Russia secured victories in Resistencia that propelled them into the exclusive group of semifinalists, after an exhausting day of unstoppable emotions. Argentina blocked the way to Brazil and reached semifinals as well as Russia, Poland and Iran
In a match that was as close as fantastic, Russia displayed all of their might to shut down USA’s unbeaten march at the first quarterfinals shift. The Soviet side emerged victorious 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-23) with a grueling pace led by an 18-point production of massive scorer Dmitry Yakovlev. USA did very well in spite of the negative result, but they failed on seizing the slight amount of chances presented during the game. Read more...

Although they were only a few inches away from elimination, Iran resurged from ashes and achieved a spectacular return to rule out Italy 3-2 (17-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-11) and move to semifinals. Iranian captain Rasoul Aghchehli nailed 25 points leading a counterattack force that grew unstoppable. When it looked like the Azzurri were ready to seal the deal with a 4-point advantage in the final track of the third set, Iran stomped to win that chapter first and eventually the game. Iran slipped away from Italy's claws and reacted to win 3-2 and advance
Later on, European MVP Bartosz Kwolek broke all the charts as Poland stomped China 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-22) at another quarterfinals clash in Resistencia. Demolishing serves and never-ending power uplifted Kwolek as the man of the match, with 23 points and a new tournament record from the service line - a shocking total of 10 aces among the 12 of the team overall. Opposite Jakub Ziobrowski and outside hitter Tomasz Fornal joined with 15 and 10 tallies respectively. Read more...

The final showdown of the day was one of the best of the tournament - another edition of the South American “classical” match between Argentina and Brazil, with an unforgettable 3-1 (26-24, 21-25, 25-22, 25-20) win of the host team. Opposite Manuel Balague had the best game he could ever dream for, as he was the brightest star of the game with 18 points, in front of a huge crowd that packed Alejo Gronda Hall in Resistencia. Meanwhile, the first quota of places 9-16 matches were played in Corrientes. Bulgaria took advantage of Mexico’s low energy with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-23) win, Cuba did the exact same over Chile 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-23), Turkey needed a bit more work to defeat Japan 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 16-25, 25-19) and France subdued Germany 3-2 (22-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-22, 15-13).
Finally, on the round robin pool for places 17 to 20, Belgium took another step with a sounding 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-22) win over Chinese Taipei, with an enormous blocking margin of 18-0, while Puerto Rico seized a much-needed win over Egypt also 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-15).
