Egypt upset their arch rivals Tunisia 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-20) to lead Pool A with 2 wins, but the losers already secured earlier the qualification Ticket to the semis.

Algeria finished their pool B matches with a clean sheet after they pulled off the third victory over RD Congo 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-11) and were joined by Cameroon who set their second victory over Nigeria 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-20).
